Dometic specializes in the design and production of refrigerators, freezers and transport boxes for the medical sector.The experience of Dometic in this area goes back to 1979, when the Cold Chain line of products were selected for the United Nations Extended Programme on Immunization organized in cooperation with WHO. Luxembourg provided US$ 10 million aid in 1997 to the Indian Government towards blood safety for a Blood Cold Chain Programme conducted by the National Aids Control Organisation. This lead to up gradation of 2600 blood banks in India. The entire supplies were made by Dometic who also sells to hospitals and other institutions directly.
